Yonka for Men: LOTION YK—revitalizing spray toner and aftershave

LOTION YK is a spray toner created by Yonka especially for men that doubles as an aftershave. If you aren’t using a toner or if your aftershave makes your skin feel sensitive, give *Lotion YK a try.

*Lotion YK contains a higher percentage of citrus than the other Yonka toners, and for some people too much citrus can cause irritation. If after using Lotion YK your skin feels irritated, please give one of the other spray lotions a try for your toner and aftershave. Several of my male clients who have sensitive, true-dry skin use Lotion PS as their toner and aftershave with great success. Lotion PNG is what someone with a normal to oily skin type would use as a toner and also as an aftershave spray.

Skin toners seem to be mystifying for a lot of people. Toners are not cleansers, as I explain in MYTH: Toners are the second step in cleansing (link below). Toners are an important step in your daily maintenance routine. They help to superficially hydrate the skin; they balance the skin’s pH after cleansing, which is very important; and for men, after shaving the face, toners can really help soothe the skin and reduce irritation and inflammation.

Essential ingredients:

• Essential oils from citrus (lime, orange, grapefruit and lemon)
  
• Yonka “Quintessence” (essential oils of thyme, lavender, cypress, geranium, and rosemary)—balancing, revitalizing, purifying

Directions for use:

After cleansing:

• Spray LOTION YK over face and neck before moisturizing
• Apply Yonka day and/or night treatment cream (moisturizer)

Other than using twice daily after cleansing and/or after shaving, this wonderful aromatic toner can be used as often as desired.

Yonka for Men: NUTRI-CREME moisturizer

NUTRI-CREME is a wonderful moisturizer from Yonka, and it is very popular with my male clients. I wish it didn’t have “for men” on the label because I’m quite sure I could easily sell this moisturizer to my female clientele.

From Yonka headquarters: Nutri-Creme is an energizing and nourishing cream that instantly reveals healthy-looking skin. This vitamin packed antioxidant moisturizer protects the skin from environmental stress and restores its vitality. Nutri-Creme leaves your skin feeling soft, supple, and super-hydrated.

Essential ingredients:

• Vitamins A, C, E, and B5—antioxidants, helps to prevent cellular aging
• Pumpkin seed oil, virgin olive oil—nourishing, protective
• Grapefruit extract—moisturizing, purifying
• Essential oils of orange, lemon and lime—astringent, invigorating
• Yonka “Quintessence” (essential oils of thyme, lavender, cypress, geranium, and rosemary)—energizing, stimulating to blood circulation

Directions for use:

In the morning and/or evening:

• After cleansing and shaving
• Spray on Yonka Lotion toner (Men’s Lotion YK, Lotion PNG, or Lotion PS)
• Apply a pea-sized dollop of NUTRI-CREME over face and neck
• Then apply Undereye Gel or your favorite eye treatment product

Yonka for Men: UNDER EYE GEL—gel eye treatment

Yonka’s UNDER EYE GEL is a soothing eye gel that helps to alleviate puffiness and dark circles, which plague many men (and women). It visibly relaxes the eye contour and smoothes lines and wrinkles. It has a refreshing scent and goes on easily.

Directions for use:

For daily use: Apply a thin layer of Undereye Gel on lines around eyes. Use morning and night and any time in between. Eye creams (and gels) keep the tissue around the eyes soft. They do not erase wrinkles. Sorry!

Used as a mask: One to several times per week, apply Undereye Gel in a thick layer under eyes. Leave on for at least 5 minutes. When finished, penetrate any remaining gel into the skin. If there is too much left, gently tissue (blot) excess.

Yonka for Men: BARBER SHAVE—soothing shave cream

Yonka’s BARBER SHAVE is a gentle and soothing shaving cream for men. It contains calming and hydrating agents of aloe vera, sweet almond oil, and plant glycerin. This soothing cream minimizes irritation, razor-burns, and the small cuts that sometimes occur while shaving. Barber Shave is highly effective on the toughest of facial hair while respecting skin sensitivity.

• Work into a lather with the fingertips or a shaving brush
• After shaving, rinse and dry the face (without rubbing)
• Then tone skin with the Lotion YK
• Follow with Yonka for Men Age Defense cream or Nutri-Creme
• Then apply eye cream like Yonka’s Undereye Gel

The following is from one of my clients who is now using Yonka for Men:

I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about my skin, but I do care how it looks. My wife introduced me to the Yonka skin care products about a year ago, and I’m a fan. The Barber Shave is great. A modest size tube goes a long way. After experimenting a bit my routine is simple:

• I squeeze out a slightly-larger-than-a-pea sized amount
• use my fingers to massage it onto my beard to create a lather
• then let it sit about 30 seconds before shaving

I must not be great at shaving (or I’ve got an odd shaped face) because prior to using Barber Shave I nicked myself (or worse) nearly every morning. If I am patient and let the Barber Shave sit on my face for less than a minute before shaving, I rarely see blood and on the rare occasions that I do, the bleeding stops after I finish shaving and rinse my face. Yonka for Men: FOAM SCRUB—Skin Polisher with Bamboo Extracts

FOAM SCRUB is a gentle gel exfoliator that helps eliminate dead cells responsible for a dull complexion and tired-looking skin. Foam Scrub can be used daily or 2-3x weekly:

• Apply FOAM SCRUB on damp skin

• Rinse off, and dry without rubbing
• Use spray toner (Lotion YK, Lotion PNG, or Lotion PS)
• Follow with appropriate Yonka moisturizer on face and neck
• Then use eye cream
