Prayer I

Dear God,
Please take [———]
out of my head
and out of my heart
and into your loving arms.
Thank you.

That prayer has gotten me through breakups with men, the ending of friendships with girlfriends, and anyone else in my life who, at the time, I was just not able to get out of my mind. Sometimes thoughts about someone you are having a conflict with stay in your head and can cause a great deal of stress. The momentum of this mental chatter can get out of hand and run your mind.

I came up with this simple prayer years ago and still use it today. If you use it as a mantra when you find your thoughts going in a loop about a specific person in your life, please use this prayer to help you release and relieve yourself from the mental entanglement you have created.

Just say this prayer whenever and however often you catch yourself stressing over a relationship—when you can’t stop your mind from thinking about the unhappy situation. I may say this mantra over and over until I feel the release in my heart (and mind). You’re basically replacing your stress-filled thoughts with this simple prayer. Try it and see if it helps you get past a rough patch. Free your mind!

May peace and love flow into the space you have created.
Blessings!
